Singapore Airlines sent an email to me today claiming that a conversion I had initiated from HSBC cannot be credited due to a name mismatch that makes zero sense.
This was a surprise because both accounts are under my name (first and last name do match), and I have successfully previously converted HSBC RewardsCash to KrisFlyer miles. The HSBC account also has my middle name, which none of the frequent flier programs have.

Conclusion
I am getting sick and tired of dealing with these secondary/tertiary frequent flier programs, and I classify Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer as one.
It provides absolutely nothing that would make me more willing to spend cash with the airline. I have never even credited a single paid Singapore Airlines flight into it and never will because it makes more sense to credit them to partners as I did to Alaska Airlines.
There are only lousy conversion options with HSBC HK (SQ/BA/CX), and Singapore Airlines is the least awful if you can use the miles on their own flights (forget partners – not competitive and award search horrible).
Now, I need to waste my time dealing with these f….rs, aka Singapore Airlines, to have the miles credited like I wouldn’t have better things to do.
